Indonesia provides on arrival visa for up to 30 days. The good news is that Indonesia government waivered the earlier stamp duty of USD 35 for Indian passport holders. Bali is an expensive city compared to other cities in Indonesia. Mount Bromo and its national park in java is a must see. Borobudur and Komodo national park are a UNESCO heritage site. Admire the Hindi Prambanan’s impressive Architecture. Get spoiled by the street food choices in Jakarta. Relax in Bali. Denpasar has Art centers and Museums and do bargain shopping.
Thailand
Thailand provides a 15 days visa for Indians on arrival which would cost you around 2000 INR. You need to pay the visa cost in Thai currency which is 1000 Bhat. Fly directly to Suvarnabhumi International airport Bangkok which makes things easier for your on arrival visa. Thailand is very economical for stay and transport. Explore the crazy city Bangkok. Hike in Khao Yai national park. Visit the golden triangle, Shop at the floating market, Visit Islands of Ko chnag, Ko samat, Phuket, Similian and Ko semui. Visit chang mai and do cycle and if you are in April (13th– 15th) get wet in the water fight. Enjoy street food.
Cambodia
Indians will get 30 days visa on arrival and have to pay 30 USD in cash. On arrival, visa can be obtained from Phnom Penh & Seam reap international airports. Indians can also apply e-visa for Cambodia and it will take 3 working days. Travel Cambodia to explore its magnificent temples, colonial structure, and remains of Khmer Rouge. Angor Wat is a UNESCO heritage site. Visit Phnom Penh, Seam Reap, Bokor National park and Bamboo Islands.
Vietnam
Indians traveling to Vietnam are permitted to obtain a visa on arrival at all the Vietnam international airports Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho chi Minh paying USD 45. However to get the on arrival visa you have to obtain an official pre-approval letter from the Vietnam immigration department. To get a pre-approval letter you can apply through any local travel agents or alternatively you can use the online travel agent http://www.tuntravel.com and they charge USD 28 for a pre-approval letter which they will send to your email. Admire the pagodas, Wander around Hanoi. Crawl through the Chu chi tunnel. Visit the Phong Nha be Bang, Dive in the Nha Trang. Don’t miss the evening lights of Hoi An and the kite surfing and sand dunes at Mui Ne.
Laos
Indian passport holders will get 30 days visa on arrival to stay in Laos and have to pay 42 USD cash. On arrival, visa can be obtained from Wattay International airport and Luang Prabang International Airport. Laos is not yet fully commercialized. Hong Kong
Indian passport holders will get 14 days visa on arrival to stay in Hong Kong. Though Hong Kong is expensive it’s a shopper’s paradise. Disney land is a must see attraction though prices are expensive for one day trip it will cost INR 5000. I would suggest staying at Kowloon where you can find affordable Indian and Arabic Halal food. Ferry services from Hong Kong to Kowloon will cost around INR 20 (2 HKD).
Macau
Macau allows Indians to enter on arrival visa and is one of the world’s richest Portuguese colony. This country is famous for the F1 track and the Casino world. The parks and Portuguese architecture and food are wonderful though very difficult to find restaurants serving halal food. Never miss tasting the Portuguese traditional Egg tart. Museum of Macau and the Venice-themed resort are worth visiting and good location for perfect pictures. Apart from this, I didn’t feel nothing more interesting. I would suggest you make a day trip to Macau by ferry from Hong Kong which would cost around INR 1100.
